A strong association doesn’t happen by accident. It happens when the people shaping strategy are the same people accountable for delivering results inside their own organizations.
SGA Natural Gas Association’s Board is intentionally built with senior executives who carry operational responsibility, strategic accountability, and enterprise influence. That matters. Because when strategy is shaped at SGA, it doesn’t stay in the boardroom. It gets implemented, tested, and scaled across member companies.
That is a distinct advantage and one of the reasons SGA continues to move with both speed and relevance for the industry.
Suzanne Ogle, CEO, SGA Natural Gas Association, shared:
“When the leaders shaping strategy are the same ones accountable for results, the impact reaches far beyond the boardroom.”
Derrick Dickens, Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President of BGE, has been elected to the SGA Executive Committee as Secretary/Treasurer.
Derrick has served on the SGA Board since 2022 and brings more than two decades of leadership across gas and electric utility operations, technical services, and customer-focused innovation.
His progression reflects both sustained engagement and the level of operational insight that defines SGA’s governance. The Secretary/Treasurer role begins a multi-year leadership progression, positioning leaders for future Chair service and long-term strategic stewardship.
At BGE, Derrick leads critical functions including safety, reliability, distribution, transmission, and gas operations—experience that directly informs how SGA aligns its strategy to real-world execution.
Adam Long, Senior Vice President & Chief Operating Officer of Natural Gas at Duke Energy, has joined the SGA Board of Directors.
Adam brings more than 25 years of experience across natural gas, LNG, and energy infrastructure. He leads a workforce of over 1,600 professionals and is known for building “Safety First” cultures that deliver both strong compliance performance and infrastructure growth.
His expertise spans large-scale operations, including LNG facilities, pipelines, and SCADA/OT systems, along with deep regulatory navigation across PHMSA, FERC, DOT, TSA, and CISA.
That combination of operational scale, regulatory rigor, and capital discipline brings a critical perspective to SGA’s strategic direction.
Steve Greenley, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Spire, has joined the SGA Board of Directors.
Steve oversees gas utilities serving more than 1.7 million customers across Alabama, Missouri, and Mississippi, as well as Spire Midstream’s pipeline and storage operations.
With more than 25 years of industry leadership, including roles at Enbridge and CenterPoint Energy, Steve brings deep experience in commercial services, gas distribution, storage, and utility operations.
These appointments reinforce what sets SGA apart: experience and enterprise-level influence.
Our Board is composed of leaders who not only guide the association, they align it with their organizations, activate it within their companies, and drive measurable value from their membership.
At SGA, strategy is only as valuable as its execution and our Board delivers both.
