The 7 Leadership Archetypes

Virtual, Instructor-Led

Discover Your Leadership Genius — and Learn to Lead Across Different Styles

Event Summary

Great leaders don’t all lead the same way.

Some naturally see possibilities others can’t yet imagine. Some bring people together. Some make sense of complexity, while others turn ideas into action. Some challenge the status quo, champion what matters, or create the momentum necessary for change.

The problem is that many professionals spend their careers trying to become the kind of leader they think they’re supposed to be — rather than understanding and leveraging the kind of leader they already are.

In this highly interactive session, leadership expert Rachel B. Williams introduces The 7 Leadership Archetypes, a framework for recognizing the different ways leaders naturally create value, influence others, and contribute to high-performing teams.

Participants will explore the 7 Leadership Archetypes and identify the leadership strengths that come most naturally to them. They’ll also examine the potential blind spots of each archetype and learn how different leadership styles can complement, or sometimes conflict with one another.

Rather than offering another personality label, this session gives participants practical language for understanding their own leadership genius and recognizing the brilliance in the people around them.

Participants Will Walk Away With

  • A quiz to determine their own Leadership Archetype(s)
  • A clearer understanding of the seven Leadership Archetypes and the unique value each brings to an organization
  • Greater awareness of the strengths they may be undervaluing or overlooking in themselves
  • An understanding of the potential blind spots and overused strengths associated with their archetype
  • Practical strategies for communicating and collaborating with leaders whose natural styles differ from their own
  • A new lens for building teams that intentionally combine different kinds of leadership genius
  • Greater confidence in leading from their natural strengths rather than trying to fit a traditional mold of what leadership “should” look like

Who Should Attend

This session is designed for emerging and established leaders across the natural gas and energy industries, including:

  • Technical professionals transitioning into leadership
  • Frontline and mid-level managers
  • Project and program leaders
  • High-potential and emerging leaders
  • Cross-functional team leaders
  • Senior leaders responsible for developing people and building effective teams

Whether participants are stepping into leadership for the first time or have been leading teams for years, they’ll leave with a deeper understanding of how they lead, why others may lead differently, and how to harness those differences to create stronger teams.

About the Framework

The 7 Leadership Archetypes are part of Rachel B. Williams’ Leadership GEMS™ methodology, which helps leaders unlock their unique brilliance, communicate their value, build meaningful relationships, and develop the mindset required to lead with confidence and purpose.

Because the goal isn’t to become every kind of leader. It’s to understand your brilliance, own it, and learn how to bring out the brilliance in others.
