Overview of API RP 1173 – Foundation

Event Summary

This training provides an overview of the 2nd Edition of the American Petroleum Institute (API) Recommended Practice 1173 Pipeline Safety Management Systems. The material will summarize the design and content of the revised recommended practice, including a high-level comparison of the element requirements between the newer version versus the original published in 2015. It will include brief descriptions and purposes of the annexes that have been added to the recommended practice, and the change in how “Safety Culture” has been integrated into the ten PSMS elements, also highlighting how assurance activities (quality control, quality assurance, audits, and evaluations) have been combined under Safety Assurance.

Attendees will receive 2 Professional Development Hours (PDH) upon completion.
