Unconventional Renewable Energy Sources

Virtual, Instructor-Led

Event Summary

This class will provide a non-technical introduction to several forms of renewable unconventional energy (wind, solar, geothermal for examples) including how the energy is frequently utilized.  Common obstacles potentially encountered in an attempt to utilize new forms of energy will be explored. Impediments to and policies supporting adoption of the unconventional energy will be described.

Attendees will receive 2 Professional Development Hours (PDH) upon approval.

  • Learn how where such energy sources are located and the availability of alternative energy supplies affect utilization by consumers
  • Gain a high level appreciation of types of challenges frequently encountered when adopting new energy sources.
  • Recognize the necessity for addressing each element of the energy trilemma when evaluating unconventional energy and consider possible conclusions and responses
